Native Americans in North America have traditionally used sage as a "smudge" for hundreds of years as an invocation for protection against negative spirits while also releasing negativity in one"s self and in the space, and supporting of mental and emotional clarity.

In this case, Blue Mountain Sage oil is the medium, instead of the typical sage leaf plants burned as incense. It is equally efficacious. However, because of a minor presence of camphor, use of this oil will negate homeopathic preparations.

This oil is an indigenous alternative to Australian tea tree oil, and has a more pleasant fragrance than tea tree oil (fresh, herby and camphoric that changes to a fresh-spicy complex). It blends well with basil, bergamot, cypress, geranium, ginger, lavender, lemon, vetivert and ylang-ylang.

It can ease skin irritations, certain rashes, grazes and scratches, while also taking the sting out of insect bites and stings. It is known for its bacteriostatic and anti-inflammatory actions. Calming to the digestive track, it can aid abdominal cramps and colic. Blue Mountain Sage supports reduction of a fever, eases the aches and pains of colds and flu, and can bring relief to a sore throat.
